Yesterday Adeline and I ate nearly the last of the tomatoes (or “ponatoes” as she calls them). We saved one for today’s snack. They were delicious with a little salt and some slices of fresh mozzarella.
And last week was officially the Last Market Day of the Year, but the farmers said they’d be back again this weekend if the weather was good. Well, guess what? We woke up to this:
a dusting of snow and 28 degrees. We didn’t venture out, but I don’t think any farmers were showing up today.
Tomorrow we’re taking my mom and sister to the apple farm, and that will probably be our last chance to obtain fresh, local produce this year. Farewell, sweet veggies, until next year.
