greeting card holders

I’ve had this project in my head for soooo long, it’s so great to have them finally finished and out there in their new homes.

Last summer we spent a lot of time back in our hometown, bouncing between our parents’ homes (luckily we didn’t have far to go — both Jake’s and my parents live on the same block).  And I spent quite a bit of time taking pictures in their respective gardens (it seems we have quite a few green thumbs in these two families).  And I thought it would be nice to make up some greeting cards for our mothers with pictures of their gorgeous flowers.

But then I had to have something pretty to wrap the cards up in.  So I made these card holders, based on Anna Maria Horner’s Cozy Recipe Card Holder.  And I embroidered their initials on the fronts (using the template from A Rainbow of Stitches — thanks, sis!).

Happy Mother’s Day!
